Several important changes were made in this version which should be noted.
New passcode system: we have implemented a more secure passcode system with this release. This means that registered users of previous versions may find that their existing passcodes no longer work. Registered users can request a new passcode by visiting the Background Magic website (www.backgroundmagic.com) and clicking the "Contact" link. You will need to provide your name as it appeared on the credit card with which you originally registered the program, and your previous passcode. A new passcode will then be emailed to you promptly.
New image tile format: this version of Background Magic uses a slightly different tile format, which is incompatable with previous versions. This will not effect unregistered users, but registered users of previous Background Magic versions who may have imported images to create custom image tiles will find they no longer work. To convert these images to the new format, simply go to the Options screen and click the "Convert" button. This will open a dialog allowing you to browse for the folder containing these custom images and convert them to the new format.
The remaining changes involve minor bug fixes and program optimizations designed to make Background Magic run better and faster.
2) Installation
It is very important that previous versions of Background Magic be uninstalled before installing this version. Uninstall previous versions using the Uninstall.exe that resides in the Background Magic folder. Registered users should be sure that any custom image tiles be moved from the "Tiles" folder to a different location before uninstalling, or they will be removed as well. Once installation of this version is complete, those images should then be restored by the method described above. It should not be necessary to reboot after uninstallation.
